HAPPY ELEPHANT by Mark Lloyd Williams.

Original drawing is Indian ink on 300gsm litho paper, a smooth, semi-gloss 400gram paper. Colour is added digitally, later. This gives the colour a "flat" "perfect" appearance, rather like silkscreen. Placing the colour digitally allows an incredible degree of accuracy, yet retains the hand-made "feel" of the ink line drawing - which suits this subject particularly well. Digital printing allows the black ink lines to retain absolute razor-sharpness. The overall effect has been described as reminiscent of Japanese Manga style art, though this is not what I am trying to emulate.

What's a giclee print ?

MAGE SIZE means the actual printed area - ie, the paper is larger by about 2-3 inches on each edge. By the time a print is mounted and framed (which typically adds 4-6 inches to each edge) it's substantially larger than the image size.

Obviously, there's no copyright watermark on the prints we sell.
